WHY THIS EXISTS

A year ago, I thought I was helping people learn Japanese.

What I discovered was that language was rarely the real goal.

Many people come to Japan searching for something deeper.

• Belonging.

• Meaningful relationships.

• Community.

• Purpose.

• A sense that life here truly feels like their own.

The Japan Chapter was created for those people.

Not to teach them Japanese. Not to coach them toward success.

But to help them build a life in Japan that feels connected, meaningful, and worth remembering.

WHO I AM

I'm Yasushi Katsuta.

Japanese by birth. A foreigner by experience.

Since the age of 15, I've spent much of my life living outside Japan across multiple countries.

When I returned to Japan, I realized something.

Many people weren't struggling with language.
They were struggling with belonging.

The Japan Chapter was born from that realization.

My role isn't to tell you what your next chapter should be.
My role is to help you create it.
